Heroic epics are long narrative poems that celebrate the deeds and adventures of a hero. They often involve larger-than-life characters, epic battles, and supernatural elements. These poems are typically passed down orally before being written down, and they often serve as a reflection of the values and beliefs of the culture from which they originate. Some well-known examples of heroic epics include the Iliad and the Odyssey, Beowulf, and the Epic of Gilgamesh. **

Heroes and courtly epics differ in their focus and scope. Heroes typically center around the actions and adventures of a single protagonist, often with extraordinary abilities or qualities, while courtly epics tend to involve a larger cast of characters and a more complex, interwoven plot. Additionally, heroes often embody specific virtues or values, such as courage or honor, while courtly epics may explore themes of love, chivalry, and the complexities of human relationships. Finally, heroes are often the central figure in their own story, while courtly epics may involve multiple interconnected storylines and characters. **
